Romanian is a Balkan Romance language spoken by approximately 24–26 million people as a native language, primarily in Romania and Moldova, and by another 4 million people as a second language. According to another estimate, there are about 34 million people worldwide who can speak Romanian, of whom 30 million speak it as a native language. It is an official and national language of both Romania and Moldova and is one of the official languages of the European Union.

  • TV Romania Live - Tv Romania Live is a platform where you can watch all your favourite Romanian TV channels online for free. All you need is a stable internet connection.
  • RomanianPod101 - offers a lot of episodes that are suitable for beginners, intermediate learners and even advanced students. You’ll be able to easily pick out those that are available for beginners, though, which are a large majority. The majority of the content on RomanianPod101 requires a subscription to access, but the memberships are relatively affordable. 
  • learnoutloud.com - This podcast offers episodes that, while not exactly one minute in length, are pretty short. Your hosts are a Romanian teacher, Roxana, and a presenter, Mark. Concepts are very basic and include just what you need to travel in Romania, conduct business with native Romanian speakers or possibly impress your Romanian friends.
  • player.fm - This is podcast that is currently no longer being updated, but it offers a wealth of old episodes that can teach you a variety of concepts, from vocabulary words to numbers, with a focus on teaching students to speak, read and understand Romanian on an intermediate level.
  • YouTube - Learn Romanian with RomanianPod101.com YT Channel
